A law or rule governing the internal affairs of an organization.
ARTICLE 1 - NAME
and PURPOSE
Section 1: The
name of the organization shall be the Indiana Disc Jockey Association LLC.
The IDJA is a Limited Liability Company, established with the Indiana Secretary
of State on March 9th 2008.
Section 2: The
Indiana Disc Jockey name, logo and slogan - "Pride In Professionalism" were
registered as a service mark with the Indiana Secretary of State on June 6th
2008.
Section 3: The
Indiana Disc Jockey Association was formed to:

Establish and maintain the highest standards of professionalism for the
professional disc jockey community in Indiana.
▪ Promote friendship and cooperation while creating networking
relationship among our members.
▪ Provide support and education for our members through seminars,
meetings, conventions and publications.
▪ Provide a DJ certification program for our members.
▪ Be a referral source of business for our members.
▪ Increase public awareness of the Indiana Disc Jockey profession.
▪ Be a source of reference for the public with information and a rating
system on all of our members.
▪ Be a source for consumers to find qualified professional disc jockeys
and other affiliates in the entertainment field.
▪ Promote charitable contributions through our members.
▪ Establish and maintain professional rates for DJ services in Indiana.
▪ Recognize and reward excellence in the Indiana DJ profession.
▪ Work with other associations and organizations to promote the
professional DJ industry.
▪ Provide opportunities, discounts and services for our members in
regards to equipment and services that will promote and expand their businesses.
ARTICLE II - MEMBERSHIP
Section
1: Application for membership shall be open to any professional disc jockey,
radio station, associate or affiliate that supports the purpose statement in
Article 1, Section 2. Continuing membership is contingent upon membership fees
being current.
Section 2:
Membership shall be granted upon receipt of membership fees and acceptance by
the President. The President shall have the right to deny or terminate the
membership of any member for non-compliance of any article or section of the
by-laws.
Section 3: Membership
Levels
▪
Business Members - Consist of individual professional disc jockeys or
professional disc jockey services (companies) and it's owner.
▪ Radio Members - Any radio station and it's station manager that
is within Indiana or serves Indiana.
▪ Associate Members - Professional disc jockeys or staff members
employed by business members or radio members. Associates can be added under the
business membership for the annual associate membership fee.
▪ Affiliate Members - Any person or business that wishes to become
a member or show their support of the Indiana Disc Jockey Association.
Affiliate members
shall include but not be limited to:
Bands; Caterers; Photographers; Videographers;
Consultants; Formal Wear & Apparel Retailers;
Coordinators; Banquet Facilities; Limo Services;
Bars & Nightclubs; Entertainment Companies;
Music Stores; DJ Equipment & Lighting Professionals;
Musicians; Other Entertainers & The General Public.
ARTICLE III - MEETINGS OF MEMBERS
Section 1:
Annual Meeting - The date of the regular annual meeting shall be set by the
President who shall also set the time and place. This will become the annual
convention.
Section 2:
Special Meetings - Special meetings may be called by the President, only.
Section 3:
Notice - Notice of each meeting shall be given to each appropriate member, by
e-mail or phone call, not less than ten days before the meeting.
ARTICLE IV - DIRECTORS
Section 1: As a
Limited Liability Company, the Indiana Disc Jockey Association is
governed by the company President and any appointed staff he requires. The
President is responsible for overall policy and direction of the IDJA,
and delegates responsibility for day-to-day operations to his staff and
committees.
Section 2: The
President will set fee schedules for memberships.
ARTICLE
V - COMMITTEES
Section 1: The
President may create committees as needed, such as public relations, member
services and convention planning.
Section 2: The
committees will receive no compensation other than reasonable and authorized
reimbursement expenses.
ARTICLE VII - AMENDMENTS
Section 1: These
by-laws may be amended when necessary by the President. Proposed amendments
must be submitted to the President for consideration.
